2018年QTT科学与技术研讨会通知

发布时间:2018-03-26

The Steerable 110-m Aperture Radio Telescope (SmART) is a key project at state level jointly promoted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and the astronomical community in China. The general goal of the project is to build the world’s largest aperture fully steerable radio telescope in Qitai County, Xinjiang. The telescope is also known as the Qitai Radio Telescope (QTT for short).

The design of the QTT and associated systems is well advanced and we expect construction to commence soon. We are planning a Colloquium to provide an overview of building and operating large-aperture radio telescopes around the world, with a focus on QTT scientific goals, frontier technologies, QTT construction and project management, etc. We expect the Colloquium to provide valuable suggestions to further the development of radio astronomy and technology in China.

We cordially invite domestic and foreign experts in radio astronomy to join the Colloquium.

  Main Topics

Merger of supermassive black holes and detection of low-frequency gravitational waves

Star formation and origin of organic molecules

Astrophysics and astrometry of micro-arcsecond and micro-Jy VLBI

  Radio transients

Planets and search for extra-terrestrial life

  Strategies for scientific goals

  Ultra-wide-band receiver technologies

  Phased Array Feed (PAF) technologies
